Featuring author and poet visits, performances, events, workshops, exhibitions, a trail and other fringe events, the Swadlincote Festival of Words is curated to be as engaging as possible to audiences of all ages.
The not-for-profit event is supported by a team of volunteers that help to organise and execute the festival and its fringe events. The team for 2025 includes:

John Delaney - Author & Workshop Presenter
Sam Holmes, Holmes at Home English Tuition - Children's Story Competition
The Swadlincote Festival of Words is supported by South Derbyshire District Council through the Government's Levelling Up Fund and by the National Forest. The Festival also works closely with venues in and around Swadlincote including: Swadlincote Library, Sharpe's Pottery Museum, Rosliston Forestry Centre, and Oakland Village.
